Privacy? You WISH!

Will Smith jaman gw masih cupu dulu, judulnya Enemy of The State. If you can dream it, you can do it”. Dalam hal ini, penulis “dream it, dan Inventor “do” it.

MASALAHNYA adalah, how many people out there aware of this? How many people care about this? How many people know about this? How many people will bother to click and read their terms of privacy and policy? Do you think your kids or your mothers aware of this when they are visiting websites? Do you think your friend who works at salon at the corner of the street understand at all about this? BIG NO. I learned that knowing something, aware of something, care about something will be determined by where do you live, how is your environment, how is the state of your current living. Why do i start typing in English? IDK.

Kalau di film Enemy of The State, Will Smith berusaha “kabur” dari alat penyadap dan kamera satelit yang memburunya, gw bisa bilang bahwa saat ini, saat kita bersentuhan dengan “internet”, kita TIDAK AKAN PERNAH BISA “kabur” dari pantauan layanan yang kita gunakan. Your smartphone and your laptop, both of them are spying or at least collecting data from you, and you dont event know about it. You may use VPN or some TOR network, or any other redirection tools to cover your original location, but it does not truly “hide” you. A lot of website has stated that they will access your browsing history and cookies (not the ones in the jar silly). And this is just one of slight excuses to access your data, to read your behaviour, to know what you’ve seen, what you’ve been looking for, what do you like, and the list is still on and on ….

Atau mungkin setelah membaca ini jadi tahu, lalu peduli, but you cannot do anything about it. WHY? Because its everywhere and your life depends on it. You cannot stay away from internet, from your social media, from your laptop, from your fucking smartphone. Just like Denzel Washington said in one of Youtube video i watched, “TURN IT OFF”. Can you live without it? Well, theoritically, if you live without your smarthphone, you privacy on some area is secured, but not all of them. You still need your credit card to buy stuff you like, your bank account has transaction history, your health insurance has your health history, which is, accessible by certain people. But at least, by staying out of your smarthphone, you may not be exposed and fragile as before.

But the question is, will you risk your coolness by going back to being a cave man, or you are willing to sell your privacy in order to grip your “life” in this generation? Well, i chose the last, so i can still write for you, reader.

Best Regard.
